The Lady Red delivered another high-scoring performance, earning a commanding 7-0 shutout win on the road against Great Bend. This marks their fifth win of the season, bringing their record to 5-1 for the first time in school history.

With 32 goals scored so far, the Lady Red boasts the highest-scoring offense in the state across all classifications.

Yvanna Rivera opened the scoring early in the first half with an assist from Jenavee Zuniga, setting the tone for the match. Freshman standout Lily Guy followed with two quick goals and later completed her hat trick in the second half, solidifying her position as the state’s top scorer with 15 goals this season. The offensive showcase continued with a sharp finish from Emily Vazquez off a well-placed free kick by Nicole Catalan. Catalan added two more goals of her own — one from a penalty kick after a handball and another after a steal and finish.

Despite playing shorthanded for most of the match after a Lady Red defender received a straight red card early in the first half, the defense remained resilient. Goalkeeper Aaliyah Morales had some good saves to secure the clean sheet and third shutout win of the season with strong performances from senior Isabela Gutierrez and sophomores Liliana Santiago and Alea Díaz, who kept Great Bend’s attempts to get on the board to a minimum.

The Lady Red will return to action Thursday at home against Hays. JV kicks off at 5 p.m. followed by varsity.
