The Apache track team entered their first Kansas meet Tuesday. The team opened the day with field events.
Devonte Denton (seventh), Kaden Olvera (seventh), Landon Flores (seventh), Xaadin Navarro (eighth), and Saniyah Tucker (eighth) all successfully contributed to their team scores by earning a top 6 placement in the field events.
That following afternoon, the team entered the running events. Individually the following athletes placed top 6 in their running event:
Kamila Huerta (seventh), Valeria Ontiveros (eighth), Kaden Olvera (seventh), Devonte Denton (seventh), Brandon Maldonado (seventh), Elkar Mancia (seventh), Xaadin Navarro (eighth), and Darion Denton (eighth).
The Apaches entered multiple relays into this meet with numerous bringing in points: seventh 4x100 with Brandon Maldonado, Kaden Olvera, Elkar Mancia, and Devonte Denton; seventh 4x200 with Brandon Maldonado, Ayden Gutierrez, Lucas Owens, and Landon Flores; eighth 4x100 with Ava Ruiz, Janelle Aquino, Vianka Meza, and Saniyah Tucker; and eighth 4x800 with Ava Limbocker, Yaquelin Molina, Jimena Fuentes, and Kenna Cordes.
Seventh Grade girls
Kamila Huerta placed sixth in the 1600m (1 mile).
Seventh Grade boys
Kaden Olvera placed fourth 200m, second in 400m and fourth in long jump. Devonte Denton placed first 100m hurdles, second 200m hurdles, and second in long jump.
Brandon Maldonado placed fourth in the 100m hurdles.
Elkar Mancia placed fifth in the 100m hurdles and fifth in the 200m hurdles.
Landon Flores placed sixth in long jump.
4x100m placed first with Brandon Maldonado, Kaden Olvera, Elkar Mancia, and Devonte Denton.
4x200m placed sixth with Landon Flores, Ayden Gutierrez, Lucas Owens, and Brandon Maldonado.
Eighth Grade girls
Valeria Ontiveros placed third in the 3200m (2 mile) run and sixth in the 400m run.
Saniyah Tucker placed fifth in high jump.
4x100m placed sixth with Ava Ruiz, Vianka Meza, Janelle Aquino, and Saniyah Tucker.
4x800m placed sixth place with Ava Limbocker, Yaquelyn Molina, Jimena Fuentes and Kenna Cordes.
Eighth Grade boys
Darion Denton placed third in the 100m dash, second in the 100m hurdles, and first in the 200m hurdles.
Xaadin Navarro placed sixth in 200m hurdles, fourth in high jump, and sixth in long jump.
