L&T staff report

The Lady Redskins traveled to Maize Tuesday for a triangular with the Lady Eagles and McPherson but failed to score a run in two losses.

The Lady Redskins fell to the Lady Eagles 13-0 in five innings.

Several freshmen have become contributors on the varsity squad this season, and Haiden Lyon has been one of them. She started in the circle for the Lady redskins and tossed four innings. She allowed eight runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out five. Only six of those runs were earned.

Zoey Torres came in relief in the fifth inning but allowed five runs, none of them earned, on two hits and three walks. She was relieved after two outs by Allie Champion who recorded the final out.

While the Lady Eagles scored 13 runs, the Lady Redskins couldn’t push anyone across the plate. Miley Janko earned Liberal’s only hit in the game, and Torres earned a walk for Liberal’s only two base runners.

The Lady Eagles didn’t commit an error while the Lady Redskins had two.

Maize scored 13 runs on only 10 hits.

The Lady Redskins also fell to McPherson 15-0. The Lady Bullpups moved to 16-0 on the season while the Lady Redskins fell to 3-6.

The Lady Redskins will travel to Hugoton (7-3) Tuesday for a double header. A week later they will head to Garden City (5-1) for a single game against the Lady Buffaloes and will return to Liberal April 24 to host the Lady Buffaloes for a double header.
