Liberal traveled to Great Bend Tuesday and showed improvement against the Panthers, but came up short 3-1.

Skylar Hubbard pitched all six innings for the Redskins and only allowed three runs, one of them earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out one.

The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the third, but the Redskins tied the game when Landon Martinez crossed the plate in the sixth. But the Panthers were able to push two more runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth, and the Redskins couldn’t answer in the seventh and fell 3-1.

Martinez and Alex Schwindt had Liberal’s only hits in the game.

Liberal travels to Hays for a double header today and will travel to Dodge City May 6 before returning home May 13 to host the Red Demons and completing the regular season May 15 when the Redskins host Hays.
