Hubbard threw seven innings and only allowed five hits while walking none and striking out seven.

The Redskins scored four runs in the first inning and added a single run in the fourth and another in the sixth.

Marco Alonso had two RBIs, and Landon Martinez had tow hits in the win. Alex Schwindt had a double.

The Redskins took advantage of three Red Demon errors while only have one error of their own.

But in Game 2, the Redskins couldn’t find a pitcher that could consistently slow down the Red Demons, and Liberal dropped Game 2 18-8 in six innings.

The Redskins started the game strong by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning, but Dodge City answered with six runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Liberal tied the game by scoring single runs in the second and third innings and then took a two run lead in the top of the fourth.

But the Red Demons put together a five-run fourth to take an 11-8 lead.

The Redskins bats struggled the rest of the way, but the pitchers couldn’t keep the game close. Liberal allowed three more runs in the fifth, and the Red Demons ended the game by scoring four runs in the sixth for an 18-8 run rule win.

Alonso started on the mound but only recorded two outs after giving up five runs without a hit while walking four and striking out one.
