The Lady Redskin softball team traveled to Dodge City to play a pair of “home” games against Hays Thursday and dropped both.
Rain conditions in Liberal left the fields unplayable, but the two teams agreed to meet in Dodge instead.
Freshman Haiden Lyon pitched a complete game in a 13-2 loss.
Lyon allowed 13 runs, 11 of those earned, on 10 hits and nine walks while striking out three. Lyon also had three hits including a double and an RBI in the loss.
Allie Champion had two hits.
Liberal was only outhit 10-8.
In the second game, the Lady Redskins struggled at the plate and in the field and fell 11-0 in six innings.
Zoey Torres pitched an inning and a third and allowed six runs, five of those earned, on seven hits and a walk.
Devenay Carter relieved Torres and tossed three and two thirds innings and allowed five runs, only one of those earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out two.
Liberal committed seven errors in the loss and only had two hits.
Liberal fell to 9-12 on the season and has three games remaining against Dodge City and two against Lakin.
