The Seymour Rogers Apache seventh took an early lead but couldn’t hold it in a 36-18 loss against Great Bend Thursday.
The Apaches opened scoring to take a 6-0 lead, but the Panthers responded to take an 8-6 lead.
The Apaches broke the kickoff return for a score to regain the lead 12-8, but the Apache defense struggled to stop Great Bend the rest of the way and fell 36-18.
The Apache eighth graders moved the ball against Great Bend but couldn’t sustain drives near the red zone.
Great Bend took an early lead before the Apaches battle back, but fourth quarter Panther scores put the game out of reach, and Seymour Rogers fell 28-12.
