The Lady Redskins worked hard to get one goal into the Garden City net Tuesday at Redskin Field in a 1-1 draw.

After giving up a penalty kick in the first half against Garden City, the Lady Red defense didn’t allow another goal the rest of the game.

But the Lady Buffalo defense was just as stingy.

Garden City had the wind advantage in the first half, but Ashley Acevedo kept the Lady Buffaloes from scoring with solid play in the net.

Liberal had breakaway opportunities in the first half, but the Garden City keeper denied the Lady Redskins any shot at the goal.

Down 1-0, the Lady Redskins had the wind in the second half, but they couldn’t penetrate the goal until midway through the second half, when a free kick from 30 yards out was blocked by the Garden City keeper, but the ball was free in the front of the goal, and Hailey Contreras headed the ball into the net for a 1-1 tie.

Both teams had scoring chances, but neither could get the ball in the net. After double overtime, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
