Nancy Ella (Feldman) Ohnick, 80, died July 31, 2026.  

She was born Dec. 3, 1946 to Robert and Esther Feldman.  

She graduated from Meade High School in 1964.  

She married Dan Dorsey. They later divorced.

She married Rod Ohnick in December 1979.

She open the Farmer’s Daughter arts and crafts store in 1981.  Five years later her interest turned to graphic design and she opened Backroom Printing in 1986. The couple published the Meade County Mercantile, did print jobs of all kinds and sold office supplies.  

She was active in the community and the local chamber of commerce.

She ventured into the publishing business starting with the Cimmaron Chronicles, and went on to publish several other Southwest Kansas histories. 

She curated the local museum, was on the historical society board, active in the First Baptist Church and did volunteer bookkeeping. 

Survivors include son, Jay and wife, Crystal Dorsey; daughter, Jana and husband Mark Orth; brother, Glen David Feldman; four granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Alan Clay Feldman.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Meade.  

Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade. 

In accordance to her request, cremation has taken place.

Memorials are suggested to the Meade County Historical Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
