ULYSSES – Antonio (Tony) Salvador Ibarra, 51, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born on April 5, 1973 to Jose and Blanca Estela (Sosa) Ibarra.
He married Jenny Young Dec. 21, 2024. She survives.
He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1992.
Along with his dad he owned and operated T&T Trucking.
He enjoyed watching the Raiders and Yankees teams and cooking out with his friends and family. Tony loved to visit people and no matter where he went, he knew someone.
Survivors also include stepchildren, Davin Powers and wife, Triana, Ulysses, and Peighton Powers, Ulysses; five step-grandchildren: Paisley, Sayler, Dredyn, Iliana and Jakoby; brother, Jose A. “Pepe” Ibarra, Jr., Overland Park; sister, Elizabeth Contreras and husband, Jason, Salina; niece, Kaleah and nephews, Tyler and Greyson; aunts and uncles: Margarita Sosa, Johnny Sosa, Mark Sosa and wife, Idalia, Gloria Hernandez and husband, Trine, Victor Ledesma and wife, Maggie, Alicia Ibarra, Guadalupe Ibarra, Salvador Sosa and wife, Sandy, Katie Limon, Josephine Taul, Annette Sosa, Amalia Harrison, Jesus Ibarra, Ramon Ibarra and wife, Irma, Gloria Villa, and Antonia Ledesma de Nuñez; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
• Funeral Mass took place Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi presiding.
Burial took place at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
