Sheryl Sue (George) Gray, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
She was born July 19, 1946 to Dale Knox and Norma Louise (Ireland) George.
Her journey took her to Denver, where she earned an associate's degree as an X-ray technician. For many years, she dedicated her skills and heart to the community at Stevens County Hospital.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hugoton and actively participated in church activities, particularly enjoying the nurturing of the gardening beds, which reflected her love for nature and growth.
Her enthusiasm for gardening, baking, and sharing life with her beloved dog Minni brought her immense joy.
Survivors include brother, Donald Dale George; nephew, Travis George; niece, Marcie (George) Potthoff, and her children, Dylan Potthoff and Kayla Keil; niece, Becky and husband, Bill Fussner and her children, Merry husband Ray Lai, and their children, Leo Lai, Freya Lai, Amanda, and husband Brandon Hatch and their children, Aesir Hatch and Wren Hatch; Thomas and wife, Tempest Mitchell and their children, Brantley Tagtmeyer, Gracelynne Mitchell; great-niece, Lauren Murphy; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Kay Screws; and nephew, Darren Screws.
• A celebration of life service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at First Christian Church in Hugoton.
