Patrick Jack Harrison, 65, passed away Sunday, July 13 2025 at his home in Cape Coral, Fla.

He was born Feb. 22, 1960 in Wichita, but grew up in Liberal. He was the oldest of three sons of Anna Fay Harrison (Wright) and Jack Merle Harrison, both from Liberal. He was preceded in death by both brothers, Mike Harrison of Green Valley, Ariz. and Tim Harrison of Kansas City.

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1978.

Survived by his wife Jacqueline Matkin, and his daughter Monica Harrison of Oklahoma. There are two sister-in-laws Kari Harrison of Arizona and Lupi Harrison of Kansas City, a nephew Dustin Hunt of Houston Texas, and a niece Amanda Harrison of Kansas City. He was loved and he loved his aunt Ellan Brown and uncle Terry Brown of Colorado. There are many surviving cousins in and around Liberal.

Patrick lived in Liberal after high school for several years where he worked for the telephone company, then moved to Oklahoma City and went to college.  He ended up staying in Oklahoma City for many years, working for Cox Communication.

In 2011 he moved to Florida and married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Matkin. He was the sweetest man with the biggest heart. He was the kindest, gentle and loving man I have ever known.

He loved animals, but it was his beloved Siamese cat “Lola” he brought with him, that he loved so much and they were buddies. She followed him everywhere and he catered to her every meow until she passed at the age of 15 this year.

Patrick loved Florida; he would always say “we live in paradise” and it was paradise, I loved living here with him. I will miss him dearly.

“I will love you forever and for always.”

• Arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.
