ELKHART – Gary Thomas Little, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 at Kansas Soldiers’ Home in Fort, Dodge.
He was born March 21, 1944 to Thomas and Florence (Vandervort) Little.
He earned his GED and went on to complete two years of college.
He began his military career in the United States Army as a tank gunner for three years before becoming a personnel administrative specialist. Gary retired after serving more than 20 years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant E6. His service took him to Korea, and he was stationed in Germany for the majority of his military career.
He enjoyed a good game of pool, fishing, and drinking Pepsi with a Hershey’s chocolate bar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters: Shirley Olham, Karen Bullick and Anita Demyson.
• Memorial service and inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025 at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Dodge, with Chaplain Ada Bogart officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army Military Funeral Honor Guard.
