ULYSSES – Susie Neatherlin, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025.

She was born May 24, 1933 to Marciano and Guadalupe Hernandez.

She married Buddie M. Neatherlin Oct. 20, 1956. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2023.

Throughout her life, she was a strong Christian and she rarely missed church on Sunday. Due to COVID-19 and failing health, she was unable to be at church to praise the Lord in her later years. However, she prayed every day and kept the Lord in her heart.

Survivors include daughters, Judy and Linda; sons: Buddie (Mary), Brian and Andy; brother, Paul (Vena) Hernandez; sister, Patty Saenz; four sisters-in-law: Molly Hernandez, Amelia Hernandez, Lawana Neatherlin, and Helen (Ronnie) Garcia; grandchildren: Matthew (Terra) Neatherlin, Bradley Neatherlin, Andrea (Dalton) Kincaid, Kayley Neatherlin, Joe (Alyssa) Orozco, Candy Marshall, Amber Neatherlin, Caleb Neatherlin, and Michael Neatherlin; 19 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Lawrence (Lupe), Phillip (Eva), Vincent, Tony, Raymond; sisters, Jenny Herrera and Damiana Hernandez; daughter, Kathy Sue Neatherlin; and twin sons, Bobby Wynn and Bruce Wayne Neatherlin.

• Rosary will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 2 p.m., at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
