Sophia Susan "Sue" Potter, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025 at the Liberal Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Liberal.
She was born Oct. 21, 1942 to George Potter and Thelma Morris.
She had worked many years at Nash Finch, Ideal Foods, and National Carriers in Liberal before retiring.
She was an outgoing people-person who rarely met a stranger.
She also had a love for animals and once made a trip to Australia where she was able to hold a Koala Bear.
She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, oil painting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, Okla.
Survivors include son, Lee Denten and wife, Gina, Cortez, Colo.; daughter, Nancy Shield and husband, Allen, Tyrone, Okla.; sister, Thelma Robertson, Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Denten; sister, Betty Jeanne Dickey; and brother, Thomas Cooper.
• Per Sue's wishes, her body was donated to science, and there will be no viewing or services.
