Raymond Dwight Headrick, 99, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
He was born July 19, 1926 to Roy and Edna (Bloom) Headrick.
He was drafted into the US Army prior to graduating from Kismet High School in 1945. Upon his return from overseas and discharge from the Army, he worked at the farm with his father.
He married Virginia Semler Feb. 13, 1947. She preceded him in death.
He married Lela M. Hayes June 29, 1971. She survives.
He worked, and eventually retired from, Oswald Manufacturing on July 30, 1988 after 22 years.
His hobbies included camping and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, and tinkering on broken things.
Survivors also include his children: Cindy (Mike) Heer, Colorado Springs, Colo., Craig (Lynn) Headrick, La Verkin, Utah, and Celia (Danny) Blair, Wichita; stepson, Stephen (Tammy) Uthe, Independence, Mo.; siblings, Kay Clodfelter, Wichita, and Larry (Barbara) Headrick, Wichita; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LeRoy Headrick and Garry Headrick; and stepson, Allen Uthe.
• Celebration of Life services will be at 12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
