Lonnie Smith, 69, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2026 at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
He was born March 6, 1956 to Harold and Joan (Flickner) Smith.
He was a graduate of Liberal High School.
He worked at Standard Supply for many years.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, listening to music, tinkering on cars, riding his motorcycle, and collecting gadgets. He also liked watching “Star Trek,” western shows and movies, and cheering on the Liberal Bee Jays in the summer.
He attended Emmanuel Southern Baptist and First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include his mother; daughter, Rachelle (Jason) Peterson, Fort Worth, Texas; son, Zachary Smith, Salina; granddaughter, Mercedes Murray, San Diego; and great-granddaughter, Elvie.
He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Cathy Batman.
• There will be no viewing, and the family will have their own private gathering at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.
