ULYSSES – Ruth O. Siebert, 87, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her home in rural Grant County.
She was born May 16, 1937 to Clifford and E. Pearl (Duvall) Hacker.
She married Kenneth L. Siebert Sept. 4, 1955. He survives.
She graduated from Grant County Rural High School and then attended Fort Hays State University in Hays.
She worked for Dr. Palmer and Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in medical records. She also worked for the Wagon Bed Motel, and R&R Specialties, and was the secretary of the Mennonite Brethren Church.
While her children were growing up, she was a sewing leader for the Cloverleaf and Full of Pep 4-H Clubs and served as a Girl Scout leader.
She enjoyed playing cards, loved to sew and made blankets for all her grandkids.
She also found time to oil paint, bowl, and enjoyed time spent with her family.
Survivors also include son, Chris Siebert and Alecia, Ulysses; daughters: Cheryl Denning and husband, Dan, Delphos, Brenda Siebert and husband, Richard Siegenthaler, Wichita, Sonya McCauley and Whitey Summers, Ulysses, and Paula Ybarra and Brandon Phelps, Ulysses; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Siebert and Aubree Denning; great-granddaughter, Ezri Aiyana Chavez-Ybarra; and brothers, Raymond Hacker and Ronald Hacker.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Oasis Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Dan Denning presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
