Tracy Jan Sponsel, 62, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Sept. 13, 1961 to Gerald Clark and Mary Jo (Day) Tilford.
She married Steven Ray Sponsel Nov. 21, 1980. He survives.
She received her CNA Certification and worked for 40 years caring for the elderly and helping them find dignity and purpose.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, attending concerts, and reading scripture.
She also enjoyed watching “The Waltons,” “Little House on the Prairie,” and paranormal shows on television.
Survivors also include three daughters: Mary Rose and husband, Rick, Shawna Neely and husband, Ryan, and Cassandra Sponsel and fiancé, Jeremiah Martinez; brothers, Kevin Clark and wife, Debbie, and Doug Clark and spouse, Brent; sisters, Penny Jo Nicholson and husband, Robert, and Stacy Ann Johnston and husband, Mark; eight grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and stepfather, Arthur Tilford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Trinity Faith Church in Liberal, with Pastor James Strickland presiding.
Burial will take place at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
