ULYSSES – Connie F. Nichols, 86, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2024 at Western Prairie Senior Living Community in Ulysses.
She was born July 7, 1938 to Harry and Suze (Hart) Dierking.
She married Wilbert “Nick” Nichols July 15, 1956. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Fowler High School and then attended Salt City Business College.
She worked in the Grant County Appraisers office for many years as a topographer.
She was also a farm wife, mother, and Mary Kay Consultant.
She enjoyed bowling, attending ballgames, cross stitch, weaving Swedish blankets, and knitted many blankets.
She was a member of Shelton Memorial Christian Church.
Survivors include her children: Debra Barbo and husband, Kevin, Pamela Brown and husband, Craig, and Scott Nichols and wife, Karla; brothers, Tommy Dierking and wife, Kathy, and Kent Dierking and wife, Pat; sister, Carolyn Taylor and husband, Ed; five grandchildren: Trevor Brown and wife, Rachel, Nichole Ivy and husband, Aaron, Angela Lopez and husband, Jack, Addison Nichols and wife, Christine, and Avery Nichols and wife, Niccole; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
• Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Casey Chapman presiding.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler.
