Those looking for a night of good entertainment while also supporting local children will soon have exactly that chance.

The Killer Dueling Pianos will be performing from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Sapphire Night Club at 401 N. Kansas Ave. as a fundraiser for the Liberal High School After Prom Committee. Individual tickets are $60, and table sponsorships (which includes eight seats and two buckets of beer) are $700, and attendees must be 21 or older to get in the door. That night will feature Jami McNeill and Ashley Owen on the pianos.

Since it is October, and therefore the season for spooky movies, I’ve been spending the month watching some old favorites and also making some new discoveries that will most likely become Halloween staples as time goes on.

In that spirit, I figured I would share a few of my newer discoveries from the month. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, feel free to get in touch with me at the paper and I’ll see about giving them a shot. Enjoy!

Those looking to have a musically spooktacular time will soon have that opportunity Halloween night.

The AmeriCoustic duo of Dan Miller and Wendy Corr will be performing Friday, Oct. 31 in Maskus Auditorium at LHS as part of this year's Community Concerts of Liberal series. The show will start at 7:30 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door that evening. 

As Miller tells it, the pair has been performing for quite a while.

There are times when it’s somewhat hard deciding what to write about on here and this week was one of those times since there’s been a lot of other news to cover. After some thought, I decided to do an album review and after I decided that, I went online to see if there were any new albums recently released.

Among the ones already released this month so far was Say She She’s newest album “Cut & Rewind.” I had never heard of the band before and after thinking “Well, their name certainly sounds fun,” I found the album on YouTube and I am SO glad I did so, because it ended up being a great listen.
