Those with loved ones and friends for whom  Restlawn Cemetery is their final resting place will soon have an easier time finding them.

Monday, Seward County commissioners approved a bid from B&G Services in the amount of $52,494 to install a digital directory  kiosk at the cemetery north of Liberal on U.S. Highway 83.

Administrator April Warden said the kiosk as well as a small building to house it in, as well as handicap accessibility, is part of the county’s capital improvement plan for Fiscal Year 2025.

“The construction drawing specifications and bid packets were published for the scope of work,” she said.

Warden said six qualified contractors reviewed plans for the project, but only three submitted bids.

“We received bids from B&G Services, French Construction and OC Quality Custom Homes,” she said.

GMCN Architects of Garden City, the county’s architectural firm on the project, recommended the B&G bid.

“This would be paid from County Building as you have budgeted for it in your capital improvement plan,” Warden said. “You did have a donation back in 2022 to assist with this project, and it was put into your general fund for this project.”
