Approximately six pounds of cocaine was seized during the execution of search warrants last week at residences in Liberal.
Seward County Sheriff Gene Ward said in a press release, Tuesday, Nov. 5, the sheriff’s office conducted a total of six search warrants in Liberal, all in relation to a cocaine distribution ring distributing large quantities of cocaine in the community.
Ward said three arrests have been made at this time.
“The Seward County Sheriff’s office is committed to taking a stand and will relentlessly pursue these criminal organizations that distribute these dangerous drugs in our community,” he said. “The Seward County Sheriff’s office will continue to serve this great community and ensure the safety for all.”
Ward said the sheriff’s office would like to thank the Liberal Police Department, Haskell County Sheriff’s office, Meade County Sheriff’s office and Stanton County Sheriff’s office for their assistance with these investigations.
Ward likewise reminds everyone the person(s) involved have not yet been convicted of a crime and are presumed innocent.
“The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time the person(s) accused may be found guilty by a court of law,” he said.
