Special to the Leader & Times

The Noon Kiwanis Club of Liberal invites members of the community to take part in the “Freedom Heritage” flag project.

The sight of the United States flags proudly waving along Kansas Avenue has become a familiar and beloved symbol to many. These flags are displayed on Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day. Additionally, “Welcome” flags are shown during special events like Pancake Day and the Five State Fair.

A project of this scale requires a significant amount of volunteer effort, as well as funds for the repair or replacement of worn or missing flags.

The success of the “Freedom Heritage” flag project relies heavily on the continued support of local businesses and individuals. The Kiwanis are asking for your financial assistance, and invite you to contribute a donation of $100, $150, $200 or any amount you can afford.

Your support will help us continue to honor our country and community. Please send your donation to: Noon Kiwanis Club of Liberal, PO Box 1152, Liberal, KS 67905-1152

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any Kiwanis member.
