Kansas Department of Transportation

 

The Kansas Department of Transportation is hosting six listening sessions as part of the Southwest Kansas Highway Mobility and Expansion Strategy – a study looking at various ways to improve highway mobility, safety and accessibility in 44 counties in and near Southwest Kansas.

Some topics may vary due to public concerns in that area, but issues to be discussed will included four-lane highways, passing lanes, adding shoulders, roadway conditions, economical/environmental factors, transportation networks in bordering states and more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the study, ask questions, provide feedback and talk to study team members.

The listening session meeting information is as follows:

• Dodge City – March 25, 9 to 11 a.m., School Administration Building, 2112 First Ave.

• Liberal – March 25, 5 to 7 p.m., Activity Center, 810 Stadium Road

• Garden City – March 26, 9 to 11 a.m., Grandstand Meeting Room, 417 Lake Ave.

• Scott City – March 26, 5 to 7 p.m., Child Advocacy Center 212 E. Fifth 

• Great Bend –  March 27, 9 to 11 a.m., Rec Burnside Room & Lounge 1214 Stone Street 

• Pratt – March 27, 5 to 7 p.m., Municipal Building, 117 W. Third Street
