An Elkhart woman suffered a suspected serious injury in an accident Monday morning Haskell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, a 2024 Jeep Wrangler was eastbound on U.S. Highway 56 about a half mile west of Haskell County Road CC.

KHP said the vehicle struck a bridge guardrail, crossed the westbound lane of travel and impacted the bridge railing. The Jeep then went off the bridge, landing at the bottom and rolling an unknown number of times before coming to rest upright and facing northwest.

The driver, 33-year-old Robin Michelle Foust of Elkhart, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with a suspected serious injury. KHP said she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
