Kansas Department of Transportation

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, work will resume on the U.S. Highway 54 bridge located three miles west of the west Meade city limits Monday.

A traffic change is necessary to allow the bridge repair work to take place. Temporary traffic signals will guide one-lane traffic through the work zone.

Motorists should expect minimal delays, and signs and cones will mark the 12-foot width restriction that will be in effect.

PBX Corporation & Subsidiary, of Sapulpa, Okla., is the contractor on this $847,656.44 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of spring, weather permitting.

For more information, contact Joel Valdez., Area Construction Manager, at (620) 417-7706 or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT Southwest Public Information Officer, at (620) 765-7080.
