The countdown is less than a week, and I can feel the excitement building! Yes, this is the week of Kansas Farm Bureau’s (KFB) annual meeting in Manhattan, and I am excited to see everyone.

I love our annual meeting because it is a celebration of the past year and all our accomplishments. Starting Saturday night with a murder mystery fundraiser for the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. I do not know who the victim is, and that makes me just a little nervous, especially since I have not seen any indication I have any duties beyond Saturday night. Probably just an oversight.

Holiday over and extreme cold temperatures are keeping me home and inside with time to address severe issues and unanswered questions about Carlie Kirk. Everyone knows how fast government and the media overexcite, drop, and eliminate news — creating a continuous diversion. You know that old saying “Out-of-sight, out-of-mind?” True masters of the art.

No answers when asked if there was a funeral (no media flurry). Rumor has it he was cremated; could be, probably was. But why? An autopsy takes between three to seven days and the results at least 10 days. The body was removed immediately, eliminating every possible evidence of foul play.

After an initial love affair with wind farms, Kansas has started to turn sour as the promise of a cash boom for local units of government didn’t pan out, and some people where they are located found them to be an annoyance.

Still, there are benefits with adding electrical generation to the grid, even if none of that electricity is used locally.

I support exports, whether that is the beef and grains we produce locally or energy. So I don’t have an issue with electricity being exported, either.

I am neither pro wind nor anti wind. I am for learning more about wind and also its impact on the local community.

We are heading into the holiday season — already.

This year it seems like I have been running and racing and making it to places in the nick of time all year. I tend to overschedule — although I’d like to point out that my sister crams far more activities into less time than I would ever attempt.

Just when I think she couldn’t possibly do another thing, she’ll say, “I’d like to try weaving.” Weaving! That sounds like an activity I would be sentenced to do if I had committed some kind of crime.
