The Eisenhower Warriors had a strong start against Great Bend Thursday at Warrior Field, but they couldn’t follow it up in a 12-6 loss.

The Warriors scored early in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead, and they kept that lead for most of the first half with a solid defense keeping the Panthers from being able to move the ball. But Great Bend broke a long run to tie the game before half, and the Warrior defense was able to stop another scoring drive late in the second quarter to keep the game tied.

Israel Tomas had a strong running day, but he was injured early in the third quarter and missed a drive for the Warriors.

Great Bend was able to cross the goal line to take a 12-6 lead in the third quarter, and when Tomas returned to the back field, the Warriors put together a drive late in the fourth quarter before the drive stalled, and the Warriors fell 12-6.
