After several blowout losses, the Redskins were more competitive in Garden City Thursday in a 69-61 loss.

James Fieser continued to set the pace for the Redskins with 30 points in the loss.

The Redskins fell behind early while coach Brandt Rogers continued to put younger Redskins on the court, and Liberal trailed 20-7 after the first quarter.

Liberal played even in the second quarter and still trailed by 13 at half, 34-21.

Garden continued to lead 49-40 after the third quarter, but Liberal put together its best run of the night to tie the game .

Garden pushed back to an eight point lead, and Liberal trimmed the lead back to three before the Buffaloes put the game away late, 69-61.
