The Lady Redskins softball team under first-year head coach Matt Quint started the season with a doubleheader sweep on the road over Colby.

Zoey Torres pitched a complete game in a 17-2 win. The game was called after the fourth inning due to run rule.

Torres also had a strong day at the plate with a four-for-four performance and three RBIs.

Allie Champion went three-for-four with three RBIs.

Lexi Miller had two hits and four RBIs.

Devaney Carter took the circle for the Lady Redskins in Game 2 and allowed two runs while striking out four and walking two in a 14-2 win.

Champion pitched a scoreless fifth for the run-rule victory.

Torres had three hits and three RBIs and crossed the plate for four runs.

Carter had two doubles.

Miller led the Lady Redskins at the plate with five RBIs on two hits, including a home run.

Champion also had a home run in the win.

The Lady Redskins travel to Kingman Saturday.
