The Lady Redskins softball team traveled to Garden City Tuesday and dropped a Western Athletic Conference game to the Lady Buffaloes 12-2.

Freshman Allie Champion started in the circle for the Lady Redskins and allowed eight runs, five of those earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out three. She also gave up a home run.

Devenay Carter pitched an inning-and-third and allowed four runs, all earned, on six hits and no walks while striking out two.

Freshman Brooklyn Short led the Lady Redskins at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Freshman Haiden Lyon, senior Zoey Torres and senior Lexi Miller also each had a hit in the loss.

Liberal committed two errors while Garden City had none.

Liberal (5-7) will have a rematch in a double header with Garden City (9-2) today at the National Beef Family Sports Complex, weather permitting.
