Liberal is on a four-game winning streak after getting sweeps over Holcomb and Southwestern Heights.
Liberal traveled to Holcomb Thursday and opened the double header with a 3-0 win.
Brooks Kappelmann allowed no runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 13 in six-and-two-thirds innings.
Marco Alonso had two of Liberal’s seven hits in the win.
In Game 2, Liberal came away with a 9-6 win.
Holcomb had a 3-2 lead after the second inning, but the Redskins tied the game in the third and took an 8-3 lead in the fifth.
Liberal extended to a 6-3 lead in the sixth and held on after Holcomb scored three runs in the final two innings for the 9-6 win.
The Redskins committed seven innings, and only two of Holcomb’s six runs were earned.
Liberal was able to add Southwestern heights to the schedule Monday and came away with a pair of wins.
Skyler Hubbard had a strong start on the mound in a 13-2 win in Game 1.
Landon Martinez, Lira and Kappelmann each had two hits.
In Game 2, Liberal won 15-0 in three innings. Aidan Schwindt and Kappelmann each had three hits in the win.
Liberal travels to Dodge City today.
