ULYSSES – Jessie Nickerson, 84, died Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 2, 1941 to J.T. and Marie (Smith) Randles.
She married Merle Nickerson Jr. Aug. 9, 1958. He preceded her in death.
She was active in Grant County 4-H.
She owned and operated Kountry Klutter and created many beautiful and unique pieces.
She was a member of the Flower Club and the Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed going to auctions with Jr., cooking, quilting and baking.
She was a member of Shelton Memorial Christian Church where she helped with Bible School and was actively involved in CWF. She served in many ways such as chicken spaghetti dinners for the UHS girls basketball team and helping elders in the community.
Survivors include daughters, Merlene Spencer and husband, Garry, and Marlene Johnson and husband, Steve; sister, Betty McCauley; grandchildren: Krystal Morlock and husband, John, James Courtney Watson and wife, Patricia, Levi Spencer and wife, Rachel, and Mandy Moral and husband, Bryce; and five great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Ian, Liam, Luke and Logan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; brother, Sam Randles; sister, Verna Randles; and grandsons, Nathan Spencer and Colby Spencer.
• Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Ulysses Cemetery with Keric Sullivan presiding.
Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
