ULYSSES – Carolina “Carol” Romero, 69, died Monday, July 27, 2026 in Ulysses. 

She was born May 12, 1957 to Juan and Petra (Hernandez) Asebedo.

She married David Romero Jr. Nov. 12, 1971. He preceded her in death.

She attended Seward County Community College and earned an office clerk certificate.

She worked in the Billing Department at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, at Hickok Elementary School and managed El Ranchito Café with her husband, David.

She loved dancing with her husband and relaxing while watching her favorite Hallmark movies.

Survivors include son, David Romero III and wife, Velma; daughters, Michelle Romero and Veronica Gonzales and husband, Jacob; siblings: Sally Ybarra, Elvira McCloud, Frank Asebedo, Eusevia Ellis, LeRoy Flores, and Elia Reyes; 12 grandchildren: Erika, Angelica, Alejandra, Eliana, Adriana, Carlos, Javier, Nayeli, Fabian, Gabriel, Elysia and Emelia; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026 at Oasis Church, with Pastor Rafael Franco presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
