LETTER TO THE EDITOR, Rex Petty, Faith Tabernacle Church
I want to especially thank all of those who donated to this Special Super Bowl Event we have been doing here for over 30 years since 1993. John Earle, who played Professional football for the Kansas City Chiefs was our Super Bowl Speaker this year. When he spoke, he told everyone about how he nearly died on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024, with a massive heart attack plus a blood clot! The emergency room doctors said he actually died twice before they resuscitated him back to life! Now one year later after John’s doctors released him in Dallas, he spoke at Faith Tabernacle Church on Super Bowl Sunday and he also visited the Seward County Jail on Sunday and Monday. He went to all six pods to speak to everyone inside the jail.
During the week he spoke in six schools including Liberal High School and both Eisenhower and Seymour Rogers Middle Schools. He also traveled to the Oklahoma Panhandle and spoke at the High Schools in Hooker, Turpin and the one in Forgan where both Balko and Beaver schools came over to the assembly.
From Sunday, February 8th through Thursday February 12th, John Earle spoke 14 times! Each place he spoke, everyone was inspired and encouraged by his amazing story! The two sponsors for the event were Faith Tabernacle Church and the Liberal Ministerial Alliance plus a special thanks to Jeff Nagel, President of the Alliance.
I want to thank the following businesses and individuals who helped make this special event possible:
Garret Van Vleet (Myriad Machine), Paul Stillwell, Stephanie Hall and Tom Willis (Conestoga), Gary Dunnam (Wind Tree Apartments), Jeff and Julie Parsons (Keating Tractor), Richard and Susan James, Dave Hall (Ashley Furniture), Vernon Welch, Lisa Batt (FCA Director in Southwest Kansas and Oklahoma Panhandle), Tom and Nikki Patterson (Patterson Cleaning), Neal Schaffer (Midwest Machine), Danny and Shanna Medeiros, Jay and Lynda Hinnergardt, Seward County Sheriff Gene Ward, Steve Helm, KSCB Radio – Cheryl Collins, Joe Denoyer, The Sports Guys Brock Kappelmann and Matt Quint, Leader & Times – Earl Watt and Elly Grimm. Also, a donation from a very liberal (generous) person named Anonymous Anonymity!
God Bless Everyone for all their help!
