GUEST COLUMN, Mary Rose, Seward County Treasurer
Â
In regards to the ‘Order To Stay’ l am personally notifying the Board of Tax Appeals; Mr. Box; Mr. Watt; Stacia Long, County Clerk and Seward County Fire District County Clerk; Forrest Rhodes, Attorney; Anglea Eichman, Seward County Appraisal; Jill Garinger, Seward County Register of Deeds; Gene Ward, Seward County Sheriff; Russell Hansenbank, Seward County Attorney; Seward County Commissioners; Seward County Fire District Board; April Warden, Administrator; Brady Steckel, Fire Chief Interim Seward County Fire District; Kansas Department of Revenue; and Seward County Tax Payers, that the Seward County Treasurer has fulfilled the ‘issued revised tax statements for all affected parcels and issued refund checks or credit’ as specified by the Agreement. It is done.
It is with great pride and sincere gratitude that I want to commend the eight dedicated women of the Treasurer’s staff. Their exemplarity work ethic, integrity, high performance, and the family time sacrifice was the driving force to see this directive to the end. The Treasurer staff represents the highest standard in performance Despite the unprecedented scope of work, that is seen in the magnitude of parcels that had to be individually worked, in my opinion, was done within an unprecedented State of Kansas record breaking time-frame as the team still handled and managed their office daily duties. Their dedication represents the very best of public service. Job well done.
I want to formally commend the ‘Calvary’ of ten incredible women from the Administration building who responded to our call for help on Thursday morning. Your immediate transition from your own duties to assist the Treasurer’s office show a true commitment to Seward County. By working together across department lines, you ensured we reached the finish line. This act of collaboration is an example of the county spirit. These women accompanied us to the finish line. Thank you.
I want to offer sincere, heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the taxpayers for the pleasure of serving you. Your collective courage and sustained commitment remain the driving force of our counties’ future. I am deeply grateful for your support, kindness, patience, and empathy. I remain steadfast and deeply committed to this role and will always hold public office with a sense of civic duty, trust, and loyalty. It is my personal commitment to remain dedicated and truthful. My principles are rooted in objective truth. I believe there is right and there is wrong, with no middle ground. I am personally dedicated to total transparency and excellence in everything I do, serving at the pleasure of our residents with the honesty you deserve. Thank You.
