Seward softball opened its 2026 conference schedule with two run-rule victories over the Pratt Beavers at French Family Field on Wednesday afternoon.


Seward (8-10, 2-0 KJCCC) opens the conference schedule 2-0 taking down the Beavers in five innings in both contests. The Saints travel to Hutchinson on Saturday for a doubleheader at Fun Valley Sports Complex beginning at 1 p.m.

Game 1: Seward 9, Pratt 1 (5 Inn.)
Seward used a strong outing from Grace Horne (W, 3-4) in the circle as she threw all 5.0 innings, allowing a lone run on two hits to go with three strikeouts and five walks.
The Saints outhit Pratt 13-2 in the game and used eight runs across the final three innings to pull away.
Mya Van Der Mey drove in three runs, finishing 2-2 at the plate. Emily Lane finished 2-3 with two RBI while Taylor Harding and Ella Doxey also finished with multiple hit efforts. Seward built a 6-0 lead with runs in the first, third and fourth. Pratt plated its only run in the top of the fifth to make it 6-1 but the Saints saw Doxey drive in two runs and Lane the game ending run in the bottom half.

Game 2: Seward 8, Pratt 0 (5 Inn.)
Another strong performance in the circle helped guide Seward to the 8-0 win in game two.
Liberty Sharman (W, 2-5) threw a complete game shutout as she allowed just five hits while striking out six and walking two.
Harding paced Seward going 3-3 at the plate, scoring two runs. Van Der Mey again led Seward as she drove in three more runs, finishing 2-3. Malaya Garcia was 2-3 with an RBI while Amithys Perez drove in a pair of runs.
The Beavers stranded seven runners in the game. Alyssa Montez was 2-2 to lead them at the plate.
