Liberal and Boulder, Colo., split a two-game series after the Bee Jays dropped Game 2 7-6 Thursday night at Brent Gould Field.
The Bee Jays started strong with a pair of runs with the bases loaded in the second inning, but a double play limited scoring opportunities, and Liberal led 3-1.
But the Collegians plated three runs in the fourth with a double, a sacrifice and a Bee Jay error.
Boulder pushed out to a 7-3 lead by scoring three more runs in the fifth.
Liberal cut the lead to 7-5 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth and scored another run in the sixth to cut the lead to 7-6.
The Bee Jays had a runner at third with one out in the eighth but could not score and suffered a 7-6 loss.
The Bee Jays fell to 3-2 on the season.
Liberal will host the Southwest Canes Saturday and Sunday.
