Ronald Roe Pierce, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.  

He was born April 5, 1942 to Jay and Nellie (Trimmel) Pierce.

He married Theresa Waybright Carlile Dec. 10, 1970, They divorced in 1974.

He married Peggy Smith Oct. 16, 2002. She survives.

He received his bachelor's degree in biology at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla.

He spent many years working in the oil and gas industry for Northern Natural Gas, Enron, and ASAP Services in Liberal.

He enjoyed drag racing his 1962 Corvette, which he later restored into a show car, winning many trophies. He also enjoyed his motorcycle collection and was especially fond of his custom chopper he built at his shop on 7th Street in Liberal, which he took to Sturgis many times.

He was a member of the NRA.

Survivors also include daughter, Jennifer Tanner, Liberal; sisters, Janelle Greenwood, Cheney, and Judy Pierce, Cheney; grandchildren: Mersadez (Andrew) Lee, Hugo, Okla., Trevor Tanner, Liberal, and Brendan (Beth) Tanner, Salina; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jim Pierce.

o There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal. Ron's family would like to invite friends to join them for appetizers at Billy's Blue Duck BBQ following the service.
