Rick Lee Yearick, 58, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 at the family home in Oak Grove, Arkansas.

He was born Jan. 8, 1967, at Meade, Kansas, the son of Archie “Rick” and Mary Lou (Gillick) Yearick.

In 2007, He eloped with Christina Kay Boland at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas on the anniversary of Elvis’ death on Aug. 16, with a honeymoon to Graceland in Memphis.

He attended Plains Elementary School and graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in 1985. He attended both Seward County Community College and Hutchinson Community College as he loved learning about history, psychology, and sociology.

He was well known in the community by co-workers and friends from his days at Walmart, National Beef, the Southgate Four Theaters, the Leader & Times, Verizon, and Clingan Tires. 

He served the community in multiple activities meeting others and making memories while fundraising and working for Children’s Miracle Network, riding with the Harley Davidson group, emceeing the annual Christmas parade and Oztoberfest, participating and setting up his villages for the OTLR Christmas Tour of Homes, and being a youth sports coach.

He met many medical challenges late in his life and faced them head on as a testimony that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Rick was baptized at Keystone Baptist in Reeds Spring, Mo., and was a member of First Baptist Church of Kimberling City, Mo. 

He immensely enjoyed politics, sports, music, Elvis, and most of all, Oklahoma Sooners football.

He is survived by his wife of Oak Grove, Ark.; brother, Archie Yearick, Enid, Okla.; sisters, Cindy Steinmetz, Dodge City, and Marsha Yearick, Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

• Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at the South Church of God in Liberal, with longtime friend Earl Watt presiding. The service will also be streamed on Facebook on the South Church of God, Liberal, Kansas page.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal, with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.

The family would welcome memorials in Rick’s name to Chris at 103 Park Street, Oak Grove, AR, 72660, to help with Rick’s recent medical and funeral expenses.
