Deborah Mae “Debbie” Kulow, 64, died Monday, May 12, 2025 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born July 15, 1960 to Robert “Bob” Wade and Vinnie Lorene “Peewee” (Mongold) Hickey.
She married Harold Kulow Aug. 8, 1977. He survives.
She attended Tyrone High School and later dedicated her life to caring for others, working for many years as a CNA at Southwest Medical Center, Wheatridge Park Care, and Protection Valley Manor Nursing Home.
She also worked as a waitress at Mr. Breakfast, Kings BBQ, and the Log Cabin Corner Café in Laverne, Oklahoma, and as a secretary at Liberal Gasket.
She loved planting flowers, crafting, ceramics, and sewing, often gifting her handmade treasures to friends and family. She especially cherished time spent playing cards with loved ones.
Music and reading were other things she always enjoyed. She enjoyed watching her grandson play all his sports and her granddaughter at her dance recitals.
Survivors also include son, Jeremy Kulow, Tyrone, Okla.; daughter, Kristina and husband, Thurman Brown, Liberal; grandchildren, Marquis Brown and Kathryn Brown, Liberal; brothers, Mike Hickey, Des Moines, Iowa, and Alan and wife, Marci Hickey, Ponca City, Okla.; sisters, Teresa and husband, Mike Kelly, Durant, Okla., and Martha “Marty” Hickey, Kingfisher, Okla.; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Hickey; and three nephews: Jason Hickey, Kevin Kelly, and Jeremiah Hickey.
• Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal.
Burial will follow at the Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone, Okla.
