ELKHART – Rosanne (Jones) Panter, 94, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

She was born Jan. 27, 1931 to Boyd and Naomi Irene (Yohe) Jones. 

She married her husband, Dee, June 16, 1950. He preceded her in death. 

While attending Athol High School, she worked for Bell Telephone in Smith Center as a phone operator and continued after graduation.

She enjoyed working with people and had many professions throughout her life. Besides working at Bell Telephone, she also babysat, worked at Ideal Grocery, Melia’s Gas Station, Anadarko, Jim-N-I’s, Fashions Unlimited and for the national park in Grand Tetons, Wyoming.

She also enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting, and bowling. She also enjoyed a competitive game of cards with friends and family.

She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Quilters Guild, Chit Chat Club and Bridge Club.

Survivors include three children: Dwight Panter, Aurora, Colo., Jo Jean Johnson and husband. Mike, Yarbrough, Okla., and Justin Panter, Boquete, Panama; grandchildren: Melodee Brinster and husband, Chris, Wheat Ridge, Colo., Arlo Panter, Denver, Mikala Towler and husband, Dane, Oklahoma City, and Kayle Watkins and husband, Kyle, Lebanon, Penn.; and great-granddaughters: Rosalee and Ramona Brinster and Sawyer Watkins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Hugh, Jay, Harry, Loren and Don.

• Funeral services took place Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025 at First Church of God in Elkhart, with Jess Lee presiding.

Interment took place at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.
