Jean Louise Regier, 90, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 in Liberal.
She was born Aug. 20, 1935 to Earl and Maxine (Pitcher) Basham.
She graduated from Toledo, Iowa public school in 1953.
She married Vernon H. Regier July 18, 1954, at the First Methodist Church in Toledo, Iowa. He preceded her in death.
She led a busy and fulfilling life, balancing her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with her professional endeavors. She worked 18 years in the bakery at Walmart Supercenter and served for 23 years as a cashier at Conoco. Additionally, she spent 45 years as a sales representative for Avon.
She was an active member of the Calvary Mennonite Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and secretary.
She was also a valued member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was recently presented with her 50-year recognition award.
Survivors include daughters, Laura Lynn Zimmerman and husband, David, Pleasanton, Texas, and Brenda Sue Regier, Liberal; sister, Martha Sue Crabbs, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren: Loretta Hill and husband, Baron, Dave Zimmerman and wife, Teri, Erica Engelman and husband, Nathan, and Adam Regier and wife, Julia; 10 great-grandchildren: Kali Nichelle Hall and spouse, Chanesse, Terrell King “TJ,” Marley Turner, Mackenzie Zimmerman, Brylee Zimmerman, Cherish Montoya and her husband, Jonathan, Corbin Engelman, Cherie Engelman, Charity Engelman, and Coby Engleman; and great-great-grandchildren, Samuel Montoya and Malachi Montoya.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Earl Basham; sister, Darlene Ann Freerksen, and granddaughter, Lourissa Michelle Zimmerman.
• Funeral services took place Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at Calvary Mennonite Church in Liberal, with Nathan Engelman presiding.
