In an impressive milestone, Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up (ORU) surpassed $300,000 in donations at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.

Since its launch in 2021, ORU has granted a total of $311,540.69 to 166 local projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to community support and development.

During the Jan. 8 meeting, ORU approved the disbursement of $15,700 to various applicants. The funds were allocated as follows:

• $1,000 to District One DA, Narcotics Task Force

• $1,000 to Feeding Hearts & Hands, Inc.

• $1,000 to Hooker Fights Hunger

• $1,300 to Goodwell Boy Scouts, Troop 142

• $1,300 to Guymon Public Schools

• $2,100 to True Blue OHCE

• $2,500 to 7 Days of Broadway

• $2,500 to Guymon Community Theatre

• $3,000 to Panhandle Cares Association

Members “opted in” allow TCEC to round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar, with the extra funds going towards charitable projects in our communities.

This program allows co-op members to support worthy causes and collaborate to help others. It has become one of the most rewarding aspects of the cooperative, fostering a spirit of generosity and community support.

ORU embodies the neighbor-helping-neighbor concept, a foundational value of TCEC. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact in our communities.
