Women from across Southwest Kansas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and the Texas Panhandle will have a chance later this month to come together through worship, prayer, painting, journaling and studying the word, as well as singing around the campfire at Camp Gibson near Hardesty, Okla.
The Refresh Women’s Conference will take place March 28 and March 29, and participants can register for $60 by following an online link on the Camp Gibson: Gibson Baptist Assembly Facebook page.
Friday night will start with a meal and an evening service, and a small marketplace will open following the service for those who want to purchase gifts.
“It’ll have literature, jewelry, and self-care products,” organizer Tammy Wall said.
Saturday morning will start with breakfast, coffee, prayer and journaling followed by a morning session with featured speaker Teaa Hopkins.
Hopkins is a traveling evangelist and speaker, established podcaster and leader who is passionate about fostering growth and fueling wisdom. She currently works at Langston University where she serves as the coordinator of Student Engagement and Leadership.
An afternoon session on living authentically will be available Saturday, as will several breakout sessions, including one on being a Christian mentor and another on setting boundaries, all of which fall under the weekend’s theme of “Empower. Inspire. Refresh.”
Wall said she is looking forward to a great time of fellowship during the weekend.
“The whole point is to give women a chance to connect and interact with one another and to find a new refreshing with the Lord, taking some time out for themselves,” she said.
Wall said she is hopeful those who come to the conference will emerge refreshed, empowered and excited about God’s everlasting goodness.
“I hope when they leave, they will feel renewed and refreshed, and they will make some connections with fellow believers,” she said. “They can make a connection and call for support.”
Wall said she has already seen ladies signed up from Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma, and she likewise hopes to see women find breakthroughs and have some good fellowship time.
“We’re going to have some campfire time and some self-care time,” she said. “We’re going to do some painting. I’m hoping they’re going to see a lot of joy and refreshing and good fellowship time with each other and with the Lord.”
Wall is very excited for the weekend of March 28 and 29 and to hear from Hopkins.
“Our speaker is full of joy and super energetic and loves the Lord,” she said. “I know she’s going to bring a fantastic word for all the ladies. It’s going to be a fun, exciting, joyful weekend.”
