Two drivers and three passengers are dead as the result of a fatality accident Monday morning in Beaver County, Okla.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported around 4:30 a.m. Monday, a 2008 Ford F150 pickup was southbound on U.S. Highway 83 just less than a mile north of the Texas state line or about seven and a half miles north of Perryton, Texas.

National Carriers has been highly recognized for its work and dedication to safety on the road and recently, the company was able to add some more honors to its list.

Several drivers and the company itself were honored at a special banquet in Topeka and according to National Carriers Director of Safety/Compliance Jill Maschmeier, it was a good evening.

City of Liberal

In an effort to address the rising population of stray and roaming animals, the City of Liberal has adopted new animal control ordinances requiring the annual registration of cats and dogs beginning January 2025. This registration requirement applies to cats and dogs over the age of 6 months old living within city limits. 

Animal registration, a common practice for municipal governments, was identified as a solution following two public surveys regarding Liberal’s stray and roaming pet population.

Last week saw McKensie Hood open her new Edward Jones space at 23 Professional Drive, and Hood said she could not be happier with the move.
