Fuller writes book about challenges women face

The earliest memories of Presephoni Fuller’s life are marked by the dark shadow of domestic violence.

Invisible and forgotten, the call of God on her life changed everything. Born and raised in Florida, Fuller is a survivor of childhood domestic violence and has transformed a painful past into a powerful testimony.

In her new book, “Let the Daughters Speak,” Dr. Fuller shares her domestic violence story, as well as delving into the forgotten lives of the five daughters of Zelophehad chronicled in the Old Testament book of Numbers.

New book chronicles contributions to WWII effort made at Liberal Army Airfield

The Liberal Army Airfield has a short but fascinating history for people in the area. During its 27 months of activation, the air field graduated 4,468 four-engine airplane commanders, and 1,025 pilots were graduated from the pre-transition course conducted for a period in the middle of 1944.

Recently, local citizens Lidia Hook-Gray and Connie Bowman decided to put some of that history together in the book “Images of Aviation: Liberal Army Airfield,” a project Gray said came about almost as a fluke.

Mad Science to bring library’s summer reading program to a close

The end of Liberal Memorial Library’s summer reading program is drawing to a close, and staff will be bringing in a bit of madness to coincide with that.

Mad Science will be making its way to Liberal Memorial Library Friday, June 27 as part of the library's party that will see the end of this year's summer reading program. The show will start at 1 p.m., and the mad scientists will be bringing their program 'Artsplosion.'
