Parenting can be extremely tough and soon, Smoky Hills PBS will be launching a new program, “Growing Together,” to help with just that.
Sara Oberle, producer/director of “Growing Together” and Smoky Hills PBS sales underwriting associate, said discussions about the show began a couple years ago.
The Kansas Department of Transportation will host a public open house for the U.S. Highway 50 Expansion Dodge City East Project from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the USD 443 Public Administration Building, 2112 First Ave., in Dodge City.
Attendees may stop by at any time during the open house to view proposed plans and speak with project staff. The project is in the preliminary design stage and includes evaluating a potential realignment of U.S. Highway 283 near its connecting points with U.S. 50, east of Dodge City.
Those unable to attend can view meeting information and submit comments online after the event at ksdot.gov/us50-dodgecity-east.

The U.S. Marshal’s office is on a manhunt for a man who has recently resided in Seward County.
According to a news release originally obtained by KAKE News, the U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of Juan Ralios-Batz, a Guatemalan man wanted in Seward County on multiple counts of crimes against children.
Ralios-Batz, who is believed to be about 40 years old, is wanted on three counts of rape of a child, one count of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated human trafficking and one count of abuse of a child.
No injuries were reported in an accident Tuesday afternoon in northeast Liberal.
The Liberal Police Department reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers and emergency personnel responded to a reported unknown injury accident at the intersection of 11th Street and North Calvert Avenue.
