Two-lane sections of Western Ave. will be closed beginning Monday from the railroad tracks near Pancake Boulevard to 15th Street in Liberal. Construction contractors will be repaving Western Avenue During this time, reasonable access to homes, businesses, and schools will be maintained. This work is expected to be completed within two weeks.

Two bus pickup locations will be moved during construction on Western Avenue. The Western & 7th Street location on Western Avenue at Blue Bonnet Park will move to a pickup location on 7th Street. This change affects the Red Route :19 and Orange Route :33 stops. The Western Avenue and 2nd Street location across from Liberal High School will move to a pickup location in the parking lot on the southeast corner of the intersection. This change affects the Red Route :17 stop.
